May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.
K-12 Schools Help Students Find Their Voice We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join a supportive school team in Monterey, California. This full-time opportunity provides the chance to help students develop essential communication skills while collaborating with educators, families, and other professionals to support student success. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to identify students' communication needs. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals. Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services in individual and group settings. Support students with articulation, language, fluency, voice, and social communication goals. Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student growth. Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance with district, state, and federal requirements. Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for accommodations and classroom communication strategies. Educate families and school staff on evidence-based practices that support student communication and learning. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Active California Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility to obtain licensure. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellowship (CF) candidates are encouraged to apply if eligible.
