Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic school-based environment in the Whittier, CA area as a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist, providing essential services to a diverse student population. This full-time contract opportunity spans the academic year, offering meaningful work from mid-August through early June. As an SLP, you'll play a pivotal part in helping students access their education, working with caseloads ranging from 50 to 60 students across various age groups. Assignments may be itinerant, allowing for collaboration with multiple school sites. This position welcomes experienced SLPs with their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) as well as Clinical Fellows (CFs), provided appropriate supervision arrangements. The district supports professional growth through bi-weekly training cohorts, with onboarding orientated for a smooth start at the beginning or midpoint of each month.
Qualifications:
Active California Speech-Language Pathology License California SLP Teaching Credential Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology CFs will be considered (SLPAs are not eligible) Strong communication and collaboration skills Experience working with school-aged children is preferred
Responsibilities:
Provide onsite speech, language, and communication therapy to students Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and participate in IEP meetings Conduct assessments and maintain accurate documentation Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams Manage caseloads efficiently, adapting to the needs of assigned schools Attend and participate in ongoing district training sessions You'll be reimbursed for assessment materials, with an allotted budget to ensure you have the tools you need.
