Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make an impact supporting students' communication growth as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) in a thriving school environment near New Haven, CT! This contract role provides a fulfilling opportunity to work with K-8, Pre K-8, Pre K-4, or high school students, with four openings available across different educational sites—including self-contained classrooms. You'll become an integral part of a collaborative team dedicated to student success.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) Valid Connecticut Department of Health License for Speech Language Pathology Teacher Certification 061 as required by Connecticut state statutes Experience working in pediatric and/or school settings preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills to partner effectively with students, families, and staff Ability to tailor therapeutic interventions to a diverse population across various grade levels
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and implement personalized treatment plans, and deliver engaging therapy sessions for students with speech, language, and communication needs Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, special educators, and parents to maximize student outcomes Serve sites working with a range of students—self-contained settings and general education classrooms Maintain thorough documentation and prepare reports in compliance with state and district guidelines Participate in IEP meetings, provide staff trainings, and contribute expertise to multidisciplinary teams Foster a positive, supportive environment where each student's voice is heard and valued Enjoy the rewarding experience of helping learners overcome challenges, develop vital communication skills, and build confidence.
