A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Hernando County Award-Winning Home Health:

Empath Home Health provides skilled nursing and therapy services to help patients recover and maintain independence at home, along with personal care support that assists with daily needs as part of a seamless continuum of care.
Location:
home health visits in Hernando County (including Spring Hill, Weeki Wachee, Brooksville, and surrounding area)
Schedule:
PRN; 5-10+ home health visits per week What you'll Do
  • Provide skilled speech therapy services in accordance with physician orders, the plan of care, and regulatory standards
  • Complete initial and ongoing patient assessments, including required OASIS assessments
  • Develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
  • Educate patients and families on swallowing safety, dietary consistency, and communication strategies
  • Support cognitive, sensory-motor, language, and memory development through individualized therapeutic interventions Why Join Empath Health?
