Role:
As a Speech Therapist, you will play a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in pediatric populations within clinical and educational settings. Your work will focus on early intervention strategies to support children with articulation difficulties, language disorders, and conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, helping them achieve improved communication skills and overall quality of life. Collaborating closely with physical therapists, educators, and families, you will develop individualized therapy plans tailored to each child's unique needs. You will also contribute to school programs by providing expert guidance and support to ensure inclusive and effective communication development. Ultimately, your efforts will empower children to overcome communication barriers and thrive in their social, academic, and personal environments.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Certification and licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (e.g., CCC-SLP from ASHA and state licensure). Experience working with pediatric populations in clinical or educational settings. Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques, early intervention practices, and language disorder management. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with families.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Familiarity with school-based therapy programs and educational regulations. Additional training or certification in early childhood intervention or pediatric therapy. Experience collaborating with physical therapists to support comprehensive child development. Proficiency in using therapy-related technology and documentation software.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for children referred to therapy services. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans targeting articulation, language development, and social communication skills. Collaborate with physical therapists, educators, and families to coordinate care and support holistic child development. Provide early intervention services to identify and address speech and language delays as soon as possible. Document progress and adjust therapy approaches based on ongoing assessments and clinical observations. Participate in school programs to support communication goals and provide training or resources to staff and caregivers. Maintain compliance with clinical protocols, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Skills:
The required skills such as speech therapy, early intervention, and articulation are applied daily to assess and treat communication disorders effectively, ensuring children meet developmental milestones. Knowledge of language disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorder enables the therapist to tailor interventions that address specific challenges faced by pediatric clients. Collaboration skills are essential when working alongside physical therapists and educators to create integrated care plans that support the child's overall development. Familiarity with school programs allows the therapist to adapt therapy goals within educational settings, promoting inclusive learning environments. Clinical setting experience ensures adherence to best practices, ethical standards, and accurate documentation, which are critical for tracking progress and achieving successful therapy outcomes. Successful completion of a pre-employment background and reference check by an outside agency engaged by the company to conduct background checking, the results of which must meet our employment requirements. Depending on your assigned duties, work location, facility access, and applicable Florida requirements, you may also be required to complete an Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Level 2 background screening is required you must maintain eligibility throughout your assignment.
