In this flexible full-time or part-time role, you will work exclusively on-site at a single school in Plantation (33313), meaning zero travel between different schools or clinics. This position offers a consistent, traditional school-based schedule with the flexibility to accommodate either part-time or full-time hours depending on your availability. As an independent clinician, you will manage your own caseload, conduct comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate daily with educational staff to improve the academic and social success of the students you serve.
Responsibilities Assess & Diagnose:
Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication evaluations using standardized assessments and clinical observations, and write detailed evaluation reports.
Develop Treatment Plans:
Create and manage customized, evidence-based treatment plans and goals tailored to each student's specific needs (including IEP development and management, if applicable).
Deliver Therapy:
Provide high-quality, engaging speech therapy sessions focusing on articulation, language comprehension, social communication, fluency, and oral motor skills.
Collaborative Care:
Work seamlessly alongside teachers, special education staff, and other school professionals to support multidisciplinary student care and integrate communication goals into the classroom environment.
Family & Educator Education:
Educate and consult with parents and teachers regarding communication strategies, accommodations, and exercises to support ongoing student progress.
Clinical Documentation:
Maintain accurate, compliant, and timely documentation of daily progress notes, session data, evaluation reports, and discharge summaries. Supervision (Optional/As Needed): Provide mentorship and state-compliant supervision to Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs) or Clinical Fellows (CFs), if applicable.
Qualifications Education:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
Licensure & Certification:
Valid, active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of Florida. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is required (Strong Clinical Fellows may be considered).
Experience:
Prior experience working with pediatric populations, particularly in school settings, early intervention, or pediatric private practice, is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of pediatric speech therapy techniques, child development, evidence-based practices, and school-based compliance (IEPs).
Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex clinical concepts clearly and compassionately to parents and educators.
Team Player:
Ability to manage a caseload independently while thriving within a highly collaborative, single-location school environment.
