A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) for the coming school year. Multiple opportunities are available at respected K-8 and high school campuses near Stuart, Florida, each assignment covering a maternity leave with a clear start and end date. These positions offer the chance to collaborate with dedicated teams while impacting learners from diverse backgrounds. Assignments include one campus per placement, with options to transition between: Manatee Academy K-8 (MAT leave, starting ASAP through January, K-8 caseload) Palm Pointe K-8 (MAT leave October to January, K-8 with ASD emphasis, strong multi-SLP support) Ft. Pierce Central High School (MAT leave September through late October, high school caseload, SLPA assistance) What we look for: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Current, active Florida SLP license (CCC required) Recent school-based SLP experience preferred Flexibility to adapt to different school settings and caseloads Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and support staff Completion of district-mandated fingerprinting/background checks (prior prints from AHCA Clearinghouse may expedite the process) What you'll do: Provide evaluations, direct therapy, and progress monitoring Develop and implement IEPs and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams Document student progress and maintain compliant records Support students with communication, language, and social needs in K-8 or high school settings These are full-time, 35-hour/week, on-site contract positions—each with a manageable caseload at a single campus, nestled within supportive environments.
