Job Description
Wellstar Health System is seeking a compassionate Speech Pathologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in Georgia. In this patient-centered role, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat adults and children with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in hospital and outpatient settings. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans, provide family education, and document outcomes. Responsibilities Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Provide speech, language, and swallowing therapy to diverse patient populations Conduct standardized assessments and interpret clinical findings Document evaluations, progress notes, and outcomes in the EMREducate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy goals and home programs Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehab team on coordinated care plans Participate in care conferences and discharge planning Adhere to evidence-based practice, regulatory, and ethical standards Contribute to quality improvement and professional development activities Required Skills Speech-language pathology assessment Swallowing/dysphagia management Treatment planning and intervention Medical terminology Electronic medical records (EMR) documentation Instrumental swallow studies (e.g., FEES, MBS) Cognitive-communication rehabilitation Pediatric and adult therapy techniques Patient and family education Interdisciplinary care coordination
