Nebraska Methodist is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for the Jennie Edmundson hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This is a casual position were you would provide coverage for weekend and weekday shifts as needed.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Evaluate patients, identify physical dysfunction and functional limitations, and develop appropriate treatment plans based on diagnosis and clinical findings. Conduct ongoing assessments and re-evaluations, modifying treatment plans and goals as patient needs and conditions change. Establish patient-centered short- and long-term goals in collaboration with patients and families to maximize functional outcomes. Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, including referrals and communication regarding patient progress and discharge needs. Provide effective, diagnosis-specific treatment while ensuring appropriate frequency, intensity, and follow-up to promote functional improvement. Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely clinical documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and medical record requirements. Educate patients and families on rehabilitation strategies, precautions, and home instructions, using interpreters and other support services when needed. Ensure accurate billing by selecting appropriate charges that reflect the services provided during each therapy session. Supervise and mentor students, participate in clinical instruction, support professional development, and contribute to department and community education programs. Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, adaptability, and commitment to clinical excellence through continuing education, teamwork, effective communication, program development, and adherence to department standards.

Salary:

Pay starts at $37.16 an hour and may increase based on work history/experience

Job Requirements:

Master's degree from an accredited university program in Speech Language Pathology Requires knowledge of Speech Language Pathology as demonstrated by successful completion of accredited Program. Requires skills in communication both oral and written, time management and organization, personnel management. Requires the ability to work independently, adapt to a changing environment, organize and work with a variable patient load. Requires the ability to conduct patient teaching and in-service presentations. Practices within standards of practice as outlined by professional organization and licensing body. One year of clinical experience preferred. New graduate completing Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) acceptable. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire. Certificate of Clinical Competence (Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) can be completed during the first year of employment). Speech Language Pathology (SLP) license required. Requires knowledge as demonstrated by successful completion of an accredited program. Requires skills in communication both oral and written, time management and organization, and personnel management.
