A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

In this contract opportunity, you'll be working in an educational environment near Mount Prospect, IL, providing essential speech and language services to help students reach their fullest potential.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders Current Illinois SLP license (or eligibility) Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred, but strong CFY candidates encouraged Prior experience in a school setting is highly valued Proficiency with evaluation tools, IEP documentation, and progress monitoring Strong communication and collaboration skills Passion for supporting diverse student populations

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct assessments to identify speech, language, and communication needs Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student Participate in IEP meetings and consult with teachers, parents, and other professionals Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions within the school setting Maintain accurate records of services provided and student progress Support school staff with strategies to foster communication-rich classrooms
