Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as you support their communication and language development in an engaging school environment. This onsite, full-time contract position offers the opportunity to serve a diverse population, potentially working with students ages 3 to 21. The assignment runs from ASAP through June 1, 2027, providing consistency and the chance to build strong relationships within the school community.

Key Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active Illinois SLP license required. Professional Educator License (PEL) is required. Previous experience in school settings preferred, but enthusiastic new grads are welcome. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work well with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families. Willingness to work onsite, in-person only.

Responsibilities:

Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders for students as assigned. Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on student needs and school requirements. Keep accurate documentation and monitor progress toward IEP goals. Consult regularly with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success. Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions as needed. Adapt services across a range of ages, from early childhood to transition programs, depending on school assignment.
