Job Description

About Us We are opening a brand-new, high-volume sports bar and restaurant in Tinley Park, Illinois , built to become one of the area's premier destinations for sports, food, drinks, and entertainment. This is not a typical neighborhood bar management position. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on General Manager who knows how to lead a large team, deliver an exceptional guest experience, control costs, and operate a high-volume restaurant at a consistently high level. This is an opportunity to join the operation from the ground floor and have a significant role in building the culture, systems, and reputation of a new concept. The Opportunity The General Manager will have full operational responsibility for the restaurant, including: Daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations Hiring, training, coaching, and retaining a high-performing team Scheduling and labor management Food and beverage cost control Inventory management and purchasing P&L management and financial performance Maintaining service, food quality, and hospitality standards Ensuring compliance with health, safety, liquor, and local regulations Managing game-day operations and high-volume events Developing and executing promotions and special events Maintaining strong relationships with vendors and the local community Handling guest concerns and ensuring a consistently outstanding experience Working closely with ownership on sales, profitability, staffing, and strategic initiatives
What We're Looking For:
Required/Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of restaurant management experience Previous General Manager experience in a high-volume full-service restaurant, sports bar, bar & grill, or similar concept Demonstrated experience managing a restaurant doing at least $3M+ in annual sales preferred Strong understanding of restaurant P&L statements Proven ability to manage labor and food/beverage costs Strong recruiting and team-building skills Experience managing large hourly teams Excellent communication and leadership skills Strong knowledge of food safety and responsible alcohol service Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Strong work ethic and willingness to lead from the front Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and major sporting events What Success Looks Like The right GM will be expected to: Build the Team Recruit, train, and retain a strong management and hourly team. Drive Sales Create an environment that maximizes traffic, guest frequency, average check, special events, and game-day sales. Control Costs Maintain disciplined labor, food, beverage, and operating expenses while protecting quality. Own the Guest Experience Make sure every guest receives great food, great service, and a memorable sports-bar experience. Build the Culture Establish a positive, accountable, professional culture from opening day. Deliver Results Take ownership of the restaurant's financial and operational performance.
Compensation Base Salary:
$75,000-$85,000 annually Performance Bonuses Compensation will be based on experience and demonstrated ability to operate a high-volume restaurant. Performance incentives will be tied to measurable results including sales growth, profitability, labor and cost control, guest experience, and operational execution. Why Join Us?
