Job Description

Step into an engaging Speech-Language Pathology opportunity supporting students at the elementary and high school levels near Kansas City, KS. This contract role runs from ASAP through late May 2027, offering a full 37.5-hour work week with flexibility built into your schedule. You'll collaborate closely with a motivated district team, delivering essential support across two campuses while helping shape positive learning experiences for your student caseload.
What Makes This Role Unique:
Caseload of 60+ students across one elementary and one high school, with additional SLPA support coming onboard soon. Schedule autonomystructure your weekly visits to each campus according to student needs, empowering you to make the most impactful decisions for those you serve. Supportive administration actively working to reduce caseload and ensure an environment where SLPs can focus on high-quality care.
Ideal Background and Experience:
Active CCC-SLP licensure with experience in school settings strongly preferred Kansas SLP certification or eligibility to obtain prior to start Ability to navigate a diverse K-12 caseload with professionalism and adaptability Strong teamwork, communication, and self-management skills Previous experience working on multidisciplinary education teams Willingness to manage a larger-than-average caseload, with understanding that additional support is forthcoming
Responsibilities Include:
Delivering direct and consultative speech-language services tailored to K-12 students Performing comprehensive assessments, developing IEPs, and tracking student progress Collaborating with teachers, administrators, families, and the incoming SLPA to best support each childs needs Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential documentation This is your chance to make a profound difference in students lives in a community that invests in both its staff and learners.
