Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic school-based role supporting students across both elementary and high school campuses in the Kansas City, KS area. This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), ready to make a difference for the remainder of the school year through May 21, 2027. The district is actively working to reduce caseload sizes and will provide additional support from an SLPA within the next few weeks.
Key Qualifications:
Hold a valid SLP license and CCC credential Experience providing speech-language services in a school setting strongly preferred Comfortable managing a substantial caseload (60+ students), with district support in reducing numbers Collaborative, communicative, and solution-oriented approach Ability to organize and structure your weekly schedule to prioritize student needs across multiple campuses
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver speech and language therapy services to assigned students at both an elementary and a high school campus Assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans based on IEP goals Maintain timely and accurate documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and communication with educational teams Consult and collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success Adapt therapy approaches as needed to meet the needs of diverse learners Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of comprehensive educational plans This flexible, rewarding position allows for creativity in scheduling and an opportunity to positively impact young learners at multiple stages.
