A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as you support their communication growth in a dynamic educational environment. This contract opportunity will allow you to provide Speech-Language Pathology services in a supportive school setting near Centreville, MD. Use your expertise to help students reach their fullest potential, collaborating with professionals who share your dedication to student success.

Desired Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program Current state licensure to practice as an SLP (or eligibility to obtain prior to starting) Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred Previous experience providing SLP services in a schools or pediatric setting Strong communication skills with students, families, and educational staff Ability to develop individualized treatment and intervention plans

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct assessments and evaluations of students' speech, language, and communication abilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs Provide direct therapy sessions in both individual and group settings Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support academic achievement Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports Participate in and contribute to student support meetings, IEP meetings, and ongoing planning
