May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Key Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders Current state licensure or eligibility to obtain state SLP licensure Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; strong CFs considered Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations is highly desirable Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Primary Responsibilities:

Assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Provide direct therapy services in individual and group settings Monitor student progress and document outcomes to support academic achievement Consult with teachers, families, and other school staff to support students' communication needs Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with school and state guidelines
