The Speech-Language Pathology Department operates within a regional staffing model, requiring clinicians to maintain competency and flexibility across both acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings . This collaborative approach promotes continuity of care, supports operational needs across varying patient volumes, and offers clinicians a diverse and rewarding practice experience. Speech-language pathology services are provided across a wide range of patient populations, including neurology, cardiopulmonary, oncology, orthopedics, general medicine, and surgical services .

Responsibilities:

Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and patient needs. Provide discipline-specific speech-language pathology services and oversee appropriate delegation of care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. Design and implement functional treatment programs that support safe discharge planning and successful reintegration into home and community environments. Educate patients, families, students, and interdisciplinary team members while actively participating in ongoing professional development. Contribute to program development, quality initiatives, and other professional activities that support excellence in patient care and service delivery.

Qualifications:

Current Missouri Speech-Language Pathologist license, or eligibility for licensure, required. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or completion within 90 days of employment, required. Minimum of one year of clinical experience in acute care and/or inpatient rehabilitation settings preferred; candidates with prior experience within the SSM Health Rehabilitation Network as a student clinician are encouraged to apply. FEES and/or MBSImP training or certification preferred.
