About SMILE Therapy for Kids Midwest SMILE Therapy for Kids Midwest is a pediatric therapy clinic dedicated to helping children reach their greatest potential through compassionate, individualized, and family-centered care. Our team provides pediatric therapy services to children with a wide range of developmental, neurological, orthopedic, and physical disabilities. We are seeking a passionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our growing team on a part-time basis. Position Overview The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide evaluation and treatment services to pediatric clients while working collaboratively with families and other members of the child's care team. This is an excellent opportunity for an SLP who enjoys working with children, values a collaborative environment, and wants the flexibility of a part-time position. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, creative, dependable, and committed to helping children develop the communication, feeding, and functional skills they need to participate more fully in everyday life. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive speech, language, communication, and feeding evaluations as appropriate to each child's needs. Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings, functional needs, and family priorities. Provide engaging, play-based therapy that is appropriate for each child's developmental level and individual interests. Treat a variety of pediatric communication needs, including articulation, receptive and expressive language, social communication, speech motor skills, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) as appropriate. Provide feeding and swallowing therapy within the SLP's scope of practice and clinical expertise. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate. Complete accurate and timely documentation in accordance with clinic and payer requirements. Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding progress, home programs, and therapeutic recommendations. Provide caregiver education and support strategies that can be incorporated into the child's daily routines. Collaborate with occupational therapists, physical therapists, therapy assistants, physicians, educators, and other members of the child's care team as appropriate. Participate in multidisciplinary discussions and team meetings. Maintain a safe, welcoming, and child-friendly treatment environment. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, clinic policies, ethical standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.

Qualifications Required:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state of Missouri. Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), or clinical fellowship candidate eligible for appropriate state licensure and supervision. Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain. Ability to successfully complete required background checks and other employment requirements. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. A genuine passion for working with children and families.

Preferred:

Pediatric speech-language pathology experience. Experience working with children with developmental disabilities, neurological conditions, genetic conditions, or complex medical needs. Experience with AAC and alternative communication systems. Experience with pediatric feeding and swallowing. Experience with early childhood communication and developmental therapy. Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary pediatric therapy team. Familiarity with electronic medical records and insurance documentation requirements.
