Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing leave coverage for elementary school students as a Speech-Language Pathologist. This full-time role spans from early September through late October, with the potential for an extension through December. As part of a supportive educational setting near Hamburg, NY, you'll make a positive impact by delivering engaging and effective speech therapy sessions for young learners.

Key Qualifications:

Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field Valid SLP license in New York State Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred Previous experience working in a school environment, particularly with elementary-aged students Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and adhere to established therapy plans

Role Responsibilities:

Provide speech and language therapy to students, conducting a total of 40 half-hour sessions per week Develop individualized education program (IEP) goals based on student needs Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to monitor student progress and make adjustments as necessary Maintain accurate session notes, progress reports, and data tracking Participate in meetings and contribute to overall student support plans Foster a positive, encouraging environment that supports student achievement in communication
