A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Make a lasting impact by supporting students' growth across multiple school sites in a contract-based role spanning the academic year. This position offers the opportunity to deliver specialized speech-language services within innovative life skills programming, with your time evenly split between two unique and collaborative learning environments. You'll work closely with students who benefit from your expertise in feeding and swallowing safety and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), managing a caseload of approximately 33 learners. Your week will be balanced between a setting focused on intensive special education support and another emphasizing social-emotional development and behavioral goals. While some high schoolers present with significant behavioral needs, you'll enjoy robust, in-person support from special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and assistants, complemented by consistent virtual and monthly collaboration with a team of 12 SLPs.

Desired Experience & Skills:

Current SLP license and

ASHA CCC

required Previous experience in a school-based setting Proficient in feeding and swallowing assessment/intervention (safe eating practices) Skilled with AAC devices and supporting students who use them Comfort working independently with access to team support resources Familiarity with behavior management desired

Key Responsibilities:

Provide speech-language therapy and evaluation within life skills program Develop and implement plans addressing communication, feeding/swallowing safety, and AAC usage Collaborate regularly with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related services to support student success Manage student progress documentation and participate in IEP meetings Split weekly hours between two assigned school sites (locations finalized soon) You'll thrive in this role if you value collaboration, variety, and the chance to see your students make meaningful progress.
