This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with clients of all ages, helping them overcome oral and facial muscle dysfunctions. As a Myofunctional Therapist, you will utilize your expertise to develop personalized treatment plans that promote optimal breathing, swallowing, and speech functions. Your energetic approach will inspire patients to achieve their health goals while advancing your professional growth in a supportive environment. Duties Assess patients' oral and facial muscle function through comprehensive evaluations, including observing swallowing patterns, breathing habits, and speech articulation. Design and implement tailored myofunctional therapy programs aimed at correcting dysfunctional oral habits such as tongue thrusting, mouth breathing, or improper swallowing techniques. Educate patients and their families on proper oral posture, breathing exercises, and muscle strengthening activities to support long-term health improvements. Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting therapy techniques as needed to ensure optimal outcomes. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals such as speech-language pathologists, orthodontists, and ENT specialists to provide integrated care. Maintain detailed records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and patient communications in compliance with healthcare regulations. Stay current with advancements in myofunctional therapy by participating in ongoing professional development and applying evidence-based practices. Qualifications Proven experience or training in speech therapy with a focus on myofunctional therapy preferred. Strong knowledge of physiology related to the muscles involved in breathing, swallowing, and speech functions. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to oral health and muscular disorders. Solid understanding of anatomy of the head, neck, and oral cavity to accurately assess dysfunctions. Excellent communication skills for educating patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to perform detailed assessments and develop customized treatment strategies effectively.
