Farsi-speaking Therapist Reports To:
Clinical Supervisor Earning :
$40 per individual session or $250 per group session

Hamilton Hybride Contract Type :
Casual contract basis, starting as soon as possible and ending in March 2027.
Role Summary:
The therapist will provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed individual counseling and group facilitation services to newcomer and immigrant women impacted by, or at risk of, gender-based violence. Services will include therapeutic support, psycho education, crisis awareness, and empowerment-based interventions, delivered in both Arabic and English, in alignment with ABRAR TMH's healing-centered care framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 psychotherapy or clinical support Work with women survivors or those at risk of domestic and gender-based violence Deliver sessions in-person and/or online Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational group sessions (brave spaces) Topics may include: Safety and emotional regulation Trauma healing and recovery Boundaries and healthy relationships Empowerment and coping strategies Additional needs-based topics identified by participants Collaborate with
ABRAR TMH
to co-develop group content using organizational frameworks and manuals Adapt programming to reflect cultural and linguistic needs of participants Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including: Clinical case notes (via Jane App) Group session summaries and attendance records Program reports and evaluation forms Documentation of any changes or adaptations to service delivery Participate in regular supervision and coordination, including: Weekly or biweekly supervision meetings Team planning and coordination meetings
Qualifications:
Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), or Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) under clinical supervision Master's degree in psychotherapy, counselling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field (as required by CRPO registration pathway) Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential clinical documentation (case notes and group notes) in compliance with CRPO standards and Ontario PHIPA requirements. Demonstrated experience providing trauma-informed care, particularly with survivors of gender-based violence, domestic violence, or complex trauma Experience working with newcomer, immigrant, and/or racialized communities Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written) is required Experience facilitating therapeutic or psychoeducational groups is considered an asset Strong understanding of cultural humility, anti-oppressive practice, and intersectional frameworks Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Strong documentation, communication, and clinical assessment skills Knowledge of Ontario mental health systems, referral pathways, and community resources Please indicate in your application which language you are applying for (Dari, Arabic or Farsi).
