A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

To Be Determined Essential Job Functions Conducts evaluation of students with communication disorders Evaluates and diagnoses speech and language disorders Develops and implements individuated education plans to meet the unique needs of each student receiving therapy services Develops appropriate service delivery models to meet the needs of students Consult with classroom teachers and other school personnel to facilitate carry-over of therapy gains in to classroom activities. Provides information, support, and guidance to parents/guardians and families Assist teachers in the identification of children with communicative disorders Maintain records for students evaluated and receiving services Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates ethical and leadership Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations Qualifications SC Certification in Speech/Language Pathology (Clinical Fellows may apply) Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology
