A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Vista Ridge Senior Care in Lakeway, TX has an in-house therapy team with smaller daily case loads, all new equipment, and an emphasis on optimizing time with patients. Speech Therapist Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a Speech Therapy plan of care for facility residents and short-term patients. Assist as needed with patient screens for Speech Therapy. Communicate progress and any barriers toward SLP goals with interdisciplinary team members. Complete timely Speech therapy documentation in compliance with regulatory, licensing, facility, and payor requirements. Assist with maintaining both the rehab gym equipment and treatment area in a safe manner, using good infection prevention methods. Provide and document patient, family, and caregiver training regarding each speech therapy patient's specific plan of care and recommendations for follow-up. Maintain productivity standards as expected by the Director of Rehab or Administrator.
Schedule:
Full-time Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Current Texas licensure as an SLP is required (this position would not be a good fit for a CFY at this time)

$45.00 - $55.00 per hour
