Job Description

Category Therapy - Hospital - SLP Job Type Contract A Speech Therapist role is available to provide expert assessment and treatment for speech, language, and swallowing disorders, aiming to improve patients' communication abilities and swallowing safety. This position involves working closely with patients and collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver patient-centered care in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver therapy for speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Accurately document patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Communicate with insurance providers to verify patient benefits. Prepare materials and plan for evaluation and treatment sessions. Educate clinical staff—including nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service personnel—on evaluation outcomes and therapy recommendations. Develop and present in-service training and educational sessions to hospital staff. Collaborate actively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes. Maintain clean and organized treatment areas. Perform patient reminder calls and facilitate hospital navigation for patients and their families. Undertake additional duties as assigned to support clinical operations.
Desired Qualifications:
Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with relevant clinical experience. Strong knowledge of current evidence-based practices in speech and swallowing therapy. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient and team interactions. Detail-oriented and skilled in thorough clinical documentation. Ability to educate and engage healthcare staff in training sessions. Compassionate approach to patient care and family support.
