Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract position supporting elementary students as a school-based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant. This full-time opportunity runs from mid-October through early February, providing valuable experience in a collaborative educational environment. In this role, youll work closely with students in transitional kindergarten through fifth grade under the guidance of a supportive supervising SLP who is passionate about mentoring SLPAs. Before starting, youll have the chance to connect with your supervising SLP to ensure a strong working relationship. The caseload will focus on delivering speech and language services to a diverse group of young learners, with the added bonus of bilingual Spanish skills being highly regarded.
Your professional background should include:
At least three months of experience as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, preferably in a school setting. A current and active California SLPA license. Comfort working with elementary-aged children, ideally with familiarity in managing a range of speech and language impairments. Strong collaboration skills and openness to feedback from your supervising SLP. Bilingual Spanish fluency is preferred, but not required.Key responsibilities include:
Assisting in the delivery of speech and language interventions as outlined by the supervising SLP. Supporting students communication goals through tailored activities and group sessions. Maintaining thorough documentation of student progress and session notes. Engaging with educators and family members as part of the student support team.
