Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students' communication growth in an educational setting near San Rafael, CA. Bring your passion for helping young learners as a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) and make a lasting difference in their academic and personal success.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Valid California SLPA license or eligibility to obtain Experience in school-based environments or strong passion for working with children and adolescents Solid understanding of speech and language development and common communication disorders Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, families, and supervising SLPs Reliability, organization, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct speech-language services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Implement assigned therapy sessions and activities, adjusting as needed for individual student needs Support progress monitoring by collecting data and maintaining thorough records on student performance Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as necessary to support student goals Communicate with educators and families to reinforce therapy goals throughout the school day Assist with screenings and assessments to identify students in need of additional support In addition to the professional experience, you'll have the chance to foster positive relationships with students and contribute to a supportive school community.
