School Speech & Language Pathology Assistant | Thermal, California Thermal, CA Job Details Full-time $27 - $55 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications School experience Spanish SLPA License Teacher collaboration Bachelor's degree Working with students Working with students with special education needs Preschool experience 1 year Working with individuals who use assistive communication devices Language development (child development components) IEP implementation Entry level Full Job Description Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available for the 2026/2027 school year in Thermal, CA. This role supports PreK students within a school setting and offers an onsite work environment, with priority given to candidates able to work onsite before considering remote applicants.
Key qualifications and experience:
Relevant SLPA certification and experience in school settings preferred Bilingual Spanish skills are strongly preferred to support diverse student populations Ability to work with students with mild to moderate speech and language needs, as well as some severe cases, including the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices Flexibility for possible itinerant work, providing services at multiple locations within the district Certificate of Clearance (COC) is required for employment Previous experience working with PreK students is advantageous Responsibilities include: Delivering speech-language support services to young children in compliance with individualized education programs (IEPs) Collaborating with speech-language pathologists, teachers, and families to support student progress Using AAC devices and other communication methods as appropriate to meet student needs Participating in ongoing documentation and reporting requirements Traveling between sites if serving as an itinerant SLPA The position is contract-based within a school district environment, with potential openings available. Candidates with flexibility to work onsite and support a diverse population will be strongly considered.
