Job Description

Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available from August 11 through May 28 for the 2026/2027 academic year in Colorado Springs, CO. This role supports students from kindergarten through 12th grade, with placement flexibility according to the candidate's preference. The assignment includes working at one or two nearby sites, both less than a mile apart, within a school setting under a contract arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist speech-language pathologists in providing direct services to students with communication disorders. Support the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings. Utilize literacy intervention and phonemic awareness strategies to facilitate student progress. Conduct progress monitoring and maintain accurate data collection and documentation. Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families to enhance communication and learning outcomes.
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program. Current SLPA licensure or certification as required by state regulations. Experience with children or students in educational or clinical environments is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
Familiarity with literacy interventions and phonemic awareness approaches. Experience using progress monitoring tools and data tracking systems. Knowledge of IEP development and implementation, along with MTSS frameworks. A flexible, proactive, and student-centered work style conducive to supporting diverse learners.
