Speech Pathologist Assistant in Washington, DC Washington, DC Job Details Contract $22.00 - $43.50 an hour 3 days ago Qualifications SLPA License Teacher collaboration Bachelor's degree Progress documentation Working with individuals with speech impairments 1 year Language development (child development components) Communication skills Entry level Full Job Description Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available on a contract basis in Washington, DC. This role supports licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering high-quality speech therapy services to students within the school setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children in schools and a passion for helping students improve their communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist speech-language pathologists in implementing therapy plans tailored to student needs Provide direct speech and language intervention under supervision Monitor and document student progress Prepare materials and support classroom activities related to speech therapy Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to enhance student communication outcomes Participate in meetings and training sessions as requiredQualifications and Experience:
Completion of an accredited SLPA program or equivalent training Valid SLPA certification or licensure as required by the state of Washington, DC Experience working in a school environment preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow detailed therapy plans and adapt to individual student needs Commitment to confidentiality and professionalismLocation:
