Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed speech-language pathologists to support the delivery of speech therapy services across various settings, including schools, pediatric clinics, and acute care environments. Your enthusiasm for helping children and students improve their communication skills will drive your success in this rewarding position. You will play a vital part in implementing therapy plans, assisting with assessments, and engaging with young clients to foster their speech and language development. Responsibilities Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering individualized therapy sessions tailored to each child's needs. Support children and students with speech, language, voice, fluency, and cognitive-communication challenges across diverse settings. Implement therapy activities designed to improve communication skills based on established IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals. Monitor progress by documenting client responses and providing feedback to supervising clinicians. Engage with children during therapy sessions, fostering a positive and motivating environment that encourages active participation. Help prepare therapy materials and assist with assessments related to speech, language, and physiology knowledge. Collaborate with teachers, caregivers, and medical teams to ensure consistent support for clients' communication development. Qualifications Prior experience working with children or students in educational or clinical settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of pediatrics, early intervention strategies, and familiarity with IEP processes is advantageous. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to speech and swallowing functions. Ability to work effectively in acute care environments or school settings while maintaining a positive attitude. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with young clients and team members alike. Basic knowledge of speech therapy techniques and familiarity with working within multidisciplinary teams is desirable. A proactive mindset with a passion for supporting children's developmental milestones through speech-language therapy. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their expertise in pediatrics and speech therapy while making a tangible impact on children's lives through compassionate care and professional collaboration.
Pay:
$40.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
