POSITION PURPOSE
Provide occupational therapy services to students in the school setting under the direction of a registered Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). This person will provide direct and consultative speech and language therapy services to designated students in accordance with the goals outlined in an individual education program (IEP).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conduct speech, language, and hearing screening as directed by the supervising licensed speech-language pathologist.? Conduct observations and prepare clinical materials. Work with classroom teachers to implement activities that improve students' communication skills. Implement the treatment program or the individual education plan (IEP) as designed by the supervising licensed speech-language pathologist. Maintain daily records of treatments, document progress notes and submit billing in a timely manner. Consult and collaborate with teachers and teams by suggesting ideas for classroom interventions. Trains other staff as needed. Adhere to the policies and procedures, including G-CCSC's network and internet use. Make positive contributions to G-CCSC's culture and climate. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Demonstrates ability to work cooperatively with supervision or as part of a team. Possesses adeptness at analyzing facts, problem-solving, decision-making, and demonstrating sound judgment Displays fairness towards all colleagues and students Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Organizes time effectively Ability to meet deadlines Preferred experience with push-in / classroom-based service delivery. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communication, Speech-Language Pathology, or Communication Disorders – Speech Sciences with an emphasis in Speech Language Hearing Sciences AND • Completion of an approved School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Program. 2. Valid Speech Language Pathologist Assistant licensure.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift 25 lbs. Ability to carry 25 lbs. Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations. Ability to see for the purpose of reading laws and codes, rules and policies and other printed matter. Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels. Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation. Ability to operate office equipment. Ability to reach in all directions.
