Job Description

School-Based Speech Pathology Assistant | Bel Air, Maryland 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is needed to provide support services in two elementary schools located in the Baltimore area, MD. This role offers a contract position starting February 16, 2026, through May 29, 2026, with the possibility of extension into the Extended School Year (ESY) session for four weeks in July 2026. The position requires 37.5 hours per week, split between two schools: Magnolia Elementary (three days per week Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and Prospect Mill Elementary (two days per week Monday, Wednesday), serving students from Pre-K through 5th grade.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist licensed Speech Language Pathologists in delivering speech and language therapy services to elementary-aged children. Implement individualized treatment plans under supervision. Document student progress and maintain accurate records. Collaborate with educators and support staff to support student communication goals. Participate in meetings and assist in the preparation of materials as needed.
Qualifications:
Active Maryland Professional Licensure as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant. Compliance with House Bill 486, including district background check and fingerprinting. Experience working in school settings preferred, with 0 to 10+ years of relevant experience. Ability to work onsite at assigned schools within the Baltimore area. Strong communication and organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
On-site role, weekdays Monday through Friday. Scheduled days divided between two elementary schools. Pre-K to 5th-grade student caseload. This position offers a competitive pay range dependent on experience, with opportunities for contract extension into the summer ESY program. Candidates will be required to participate in a prescreen interview with flexible timing options.
