Lower School Speech Therapist Supervisor/Assistant Director Confidential New York, NY Job Details Full-time $105,000 - $130,000 a year 1 hour ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Qualifications Student supervision Staff supervision Managing teams of therapists Team supervision Student mentoring Experience working with graduate students Working with pediatric populations Experience working with individuals with autism Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Practicing as a therapist supervisor Working with students Clinical staff mentoring Master of Science Speech-Language Pathology License Pediatrics Newsletters (communication methods) Communication Sciences & Disorders Student assessment Full Job Description We are seeking a Supervisor of Speech Therapy Supervisor/Assistant Director for a school-based setting for children on the Autism Spectrum Lower School Speech Therapy Supervisor/ Assistant Director Responsibilities In person / 5 days a week, during hours of operation Supervision Supervise 5 - 6 therapists Direct supervision of 50 students Perform co-treats with each student with a minimum of once a month 1 weekly supervision meeting with each therapist On-the-spot problem solving and answering questions for therapists Internal or external meetings with therapists/teams (e.g., clinics, AAC meetings, TD meetings, goal meetings, IEP meetings) AAC collaboration meetings Oversee graduate student externship Onboard and train newly hired SLPs and CFs Administration Collaborate with Director of Clinical Services, Admissions/Administration, Upper School Speech Director to determine speech and language department staffing needs Collaborate with Director(s), Associate Director(s) and Supervisors of Education/ABA to develop lower school programming Participate in the hiring and interviewing of SLPs Assign caseloads in collaboration with Director of Clinical Services and Upper School Speech Director Participate in new student intake visits Documentation Review assessments of students with therapists Review, develop and finalize goals with therapists Edit progress reports Progress Report development: editing template, creating documents relating to updates/edits/guidelines for staff Communication (e-mails, Teams) to department throughout the year Attendance document updating Coordinate with universities for graduate students Annual reviews for therapists Coordination/Planning Weekly Department meeting Meetings with upper faculty and administration Related Service Directors weekly meeting CEO monthly meeting Speech Department Directors weekly meeting AAC planning weekly meeting Purchasing items for group Organization of department meetings Update supply order Program Development Long- and short-term department and organizational goals Schedule trainings for the classroom (e.g., AAC) Implement classroom/speech programs (e.g., core word clicker) Development and organization of speech group program (e.g., core word, social thinking) Develop CB/Lower School Newsletter Organize and setting up of therapy room(s) Participate and contribute to Halloween, spirit week etc. Salary $105,00-$130,000 based on education, experience and certifications at the time of hire Qualifications NY State licensed speech therapist ASHA certification TSSLD Master's degree (e.g., MS, MA) in speech therapy or higher At least 4 years of working experience at a comparable setting with at least 1 year of experience working as a supervisor Experience Mentoring and Supervising Certified/Licensed SLP's and Graduate student clinicians Proficient in a variety of evaluation and assessment tools used in pediatric practice Proficient in using a variety of therapeutic approaches and SLP frames of references, such as DTTC/PROMPT, Social Thinking Curriculum, Aided Language Stimulation, core word approach etc.
