A Speech Language Pathology Assistant assists licensed speech language pathologists in treating people with speech and language or other communication disorders or swallowing disorders. Assists with screening and helps patients with therapy activities. Works with adults or children and helps to treat a variety of speech disorders or communication problems created by stroke or injury.

Position Summary The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) works under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality speech and language therapy services to pediatric clients. The SLPA implements treatment plans, documents progress, collaborates with families and caregivers, and helps children achieve meaningful communication goals. Responsibilities Provide direct speech-language therapy under the supervision of a licensed SLP. Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP. Conduct engaging, play-based therapy sessions. Document treatment notes accurately and submit them within required timeframes. Monitor client progress and communicate observations to the supervising SLP. Educate parents and caregivers on home practice strategies. Maintain professional communication with families, daycare staff, physicians, and team members. Participate in supervision meetings and ongoing training. Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Travel between client locations as needed. Maintain licensure and complete required continuing education.
