Qualifications and Skills:

Active SLPA license or certification as required for school settings Minimum of 1 year of experience as an SLPA, preferably working with school-age children or adolescents Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL); sign language skills are an essential requirement Understanding of IEPs, therapy documentation, and collaboration in multidisciplinary teams Strong interpersonal communication and organizational abilities Ability to adapt to the needs of a diverse student population in middle and high school environments

Responsibilities:

Deliver direct and indirect speech-language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed SLP Support students in both individual and group sessions—many utilizing sign language to foster communication Collaborate with teachers, staff, and family members to ensure consistency of care and facilitate progress Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and progress reports as required Assist in developing materials and resources to enhance student engagement
