Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field required. Valid SLPA (Speech-Language Pathology Assistant) license in Virginia. Experience assisting with speech-language therapy in school settings is preferred. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with documentation systems and IEP requirements highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver direct therapy services under the supervision of a licensed SLP. Support the planning and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs). Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide insightful feedback to SLPs, teachers, and parents. Engage students with tailored activities that foster communication, language, and social skills. Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist with assessments, screenings, and preparation of materials. Collaborate with other school professionals to ensure comprehensive support for student success. Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
