Category Nursing - Sterile Processing Tech Job Type Contract This is an excellent opportunity for individuals experienced in sterile processing to support hospital operations on a contract basis. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about patient safety, instrument care, and contributing to high-quality surgical outcomes. Utilize your sterile processing expertise and ensure that medical instruments are ready and safe for every procedure.
Required Skills and Experience:
Previous experience as a Sterile Processing Technician Ability to demonstrate and maintain best practices in instrument cleaning and sterilization Sterile Processing Tech certification is preferred, but not required (non-certified candidates with strong experience are welcome) Knowledge of infection prevention and control procedures Familiarity with sterilizers, washers, and tracking/documentation systems Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established protocols Excellent organizational abilities and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities:
Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established guidelines Operate and monitor autoclaves and other sterilization equipment Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and supply usage Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with standards and safety regulations Assist clinical staff and departments by providing ready and properly processed instruments in a timely manner Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs Adhere to all hospital policies and safety protocols As a vital member of the sterile processing team, your attention to detail and commitment directly impacts patient outcomes and safety.
