Summary The Processing Technician is responsible for the manufacturing of donated human tissue into the highest quality of wound care allografts. The Processing Technician plays a critical role in ensuring efficient and accurate processing, preservation, preparation of human tissue for transplantation. This position ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPm), FDA regulations and AATB standards are being upheld while ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality to maintain tissue viability and integrity. The Processing Technician must adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Current Good Documentation Practices (cGDP) and must report all discrepancies immediately. Responsibilities The processing technician is responsible for routine processing of all tissue products and ensuring all tissue allografts are processed in accordance with SOPs and meet or exceed Surgenex standards for quality, safety and efficacy. Utilize strict sterile techniques to prevent any contamination during processing. Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, including FDA guidelines and AATB standards. Responsible for completion of all applicable processing documentation which ensures that documentation is completed accurately, correctly, concurrently and is traceable by a third party. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment used in tissue processing such as biosafety cabinets, residual moisture testing machines, bandsaws, CNC machines, sonicators, orbital shakers and heat sealers. Assist in the calibration and troubleshooting of equipment when necessary. Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment used regularly within the processing suites. Responsible for the routine cleaning/decontamination of the processing suites following all processing activities. Responsible for the monthly and weekly cleaning of all processing suites to ensure cleanliness is being upheld. Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient processing of tissues. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments regarding processing status and any issues that may arise. Ensure that all critical supplies used for processing is stored in a cleanly manner while maintaining
FIFO/FEFO.
Identify and address any discrepancies or issues that arise during tissue processing and report them to management as necessary. Other duties as assigned.
