Responsibilities Perform detailed assembly, inspection, and packaging of sterile medical instruments, ensuring all items meet strict sterilization standards. Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and endoscope reprocessors with precision and adherence to protocols. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies, monitor stock rotation, and coordinate procurement to ensure availability of necessary instruments. Conduct thorough decontamination processes for used surgical tools, ensuring all items are properly cleaned before sterilization. Follow established aseptic techniques during instrument handling to prevent contamination and maintain sterile fields. Reprocess complex medical equipment including endoscopes, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and infection control policies. Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Requirements Proven experience in sterile processing, medical instrument assembly, packaging, or related healthcare environment. Knowledge of physiology and anatomy to accurately handle specialized surgical instruments and understand their applications. Familiarity with infection prevention management practices within healthcare settings. Proficiency in operating medical sterilization equipment and understanding of medical terminology relevant to sterile processing. Strong skills in inventory management, record keeping, and adherence to infection control protocols. Ability to demonstrate aseptic technique consistently during instrument handling and reprocessing activities. Certification or training in sterile processing or central sterile supply is highly preferred; ongoing education in infection prevention is a plus.
