Overview Join our dedicated healthcare support team as a Sterile Processing Technician, where your expertise will ensure the highest standards of patient safety and infection control. In this vital role, you will handle the assembly, sterilization, and packaging of medical instruments, contributing directly to quality patient care. Your attention to detail and knowledge of sterile processing procedures will help maintain a safe and efficient healthcare environment. This paid position offers an engaging opportunity to develop your skills in medical equipment sterilization and infection prevention while supporting healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional care. Duties Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and packaging of surgical instruments and medical devices using aseptic techniques. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical equipment, ensuring proper storage and documentation. Reprocess endoscopes and other specialized medical instruments following strict sterilization protocols. Apply physiology and anatomy knowledge to identify proper handling and reprocessing procedures for various medical tools. Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and infection prevention activities in compliance with healthcare standards. Follow infection control policies to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with healthcare infection prevention guidelines. Assist in training staff on sterile processing techniques, infection control practices, and proper use of sterilization equipment. Requirements Prior experience or training in sterile processing medical instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization is highly preferred. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control principles. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and surgical instrument handling. Experience with endoscope reprocessing and medical equipment operation is a plus. Ability to manage inventory efficiently while adhering to strict sterilization protocols. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards in sterile processing environments. Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams and train staff on best practices. Up to $2,304.28 per week
