Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sterilization Technician/Records Technician to join our dental team. This vital role ensures the highest standards of infection control, sterilization, and accurate management of patient records, supporting the overall efficiency and safety of our practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, knowledge of dental sterilization procedures, and familiarity with electronic health record systems. Responsibilities Perform sterilization and processing of dental instruments in accordance with infection prevention management policies and aseptic techniques. Maintain and monitor sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners, ensuring proper functioning and compliance with safety standards. Manage medical documentation and maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms. Ensure all patient information is handled in accordance with HIPAA regulations to protect clinical confidentiality policies. Assist with inventory control by tracking dental supplies, sterilization materials, and medical records to ensure availability and proper storage. Support clinical staff by preparing dental instruments for procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Uphold strict infection control protocols through proper handling of medical imaging equipment, X-ray machines, and dental x-ray procedures. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless patient management and efficient clinic operations. Qualifications Prior experience in dental clinic settings with knowledge of dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing medical records and patient documentation. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control practices. Knowledge of dental terminology related to general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Ability to operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, X-ray machines, and other clinical tools safely and effectively. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining accurate medical documentation. Commitment to clinical confidentiality policies and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
