The Sterilization Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of our practice by ensuring that all dental instruments and operatory areas are properly sterilized according to the highest standards of infection control. Responsibilities Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment per OSHA and CDC guidelines Maintain sterilization logs and documentation Prepare operatories for procedures, including stocking and setting up trays with sterilized instruments Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of sterilization equipment Assist the dental team with operatory turnover between patients Manage inventory of sterilization supplies and notify supervisor when reordering is needed Comply with all infection control, HIPAA, and safety protocols Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Familiarity with sterilization procedures and infection control standards preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a team setting Excellent organizational skills and a positive attitude Must be a DA or DA II to know how to operate sterilization equipment.
