As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll ensure surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, inspected, assembled, sterilized, and ready for use by our clinical teams. What We're Looking For:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED, required.
Experience:
One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Processing Department, preferred.
Licensure/certification/registration:
Sterile Processing Tech Certification, preferred.
Additional Skills Required:
Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology.
What You'll Do:
Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment Prepare and package instrument sets according to established procedures Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and completeness Operate sterilization equipment and monitor sterilization processes Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection prevention and safety standards Ensure instruments and equipment are available and ready to support patient care
