Schedule:
Day shift SUMMARY Prepare and maintain the many life preserving articles and pieces of equipment that are necessary to provide the utmost in both patient and employee safety and generate the utmost in both patient care. Follow the direction and guidance of the Central Supply Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
  • Operates steam and ETO gas sterilizers
  • Maintain extra supplies
  • Updates file cards and maintains daily records
  • Participates in continuing education programs in the hospital and in outside seminars and workshops.
Desired Attributes:
  • Basic understanding of various functions of the department. Conscientious regard for technical and minute procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature of items and equipment used by the department.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
Required Licensure/Certification:
Certification by the Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) upon hire or must obtain within two years of hire. Medium Work
  • Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. (Physical Requirements)Non-Exempt

Environmental exposures may include equipment noise, shared workspaces, and occasional proximity to hazardous areas. Physical capability screening may be required. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. 74 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
