Job Description
Our Metropolitan team is expanding, and we want you to join us! Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital, a full-service, 24hr Emergency and Referral Hospital is growing again! We have opportunities for a Surgical Sterile Processing Assistant for our Sterile Processing Team. At Metropolitan, you will have the opportunity to highlight your skills! As a member of our Sterile Processing Team, your main focus will be providing a high standard of care throughout our Surgery Department, along with these additional functions of the position: Decontaminating surgical instruments and surgical suites after use Assembly and sterilization of surgical instruments, surgical packs and supplies Set up for all surgical procedures including, but not limited to Soft Tissue, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Cardiology and General Practice. Assists in maintaining inventory of instruments, equipment and supplies Performs daily cleaning and stocking of work areas Performs sterilization with the use of a Steam Autoclave and an Ethylene Oxide Gas Sterilizer Performs the above functions according to Sterile Processing and Operating Room policies and procedures The ideal addition to Sterile Processing team will possess: A minimum of 1-year Veterinary Hospital experience or working knowledge of Operating Room instrumentation and Sterile Processing experience preferred, but willing to train the right individual Self-motivated learning skills Superb communication skills Ability to remain calm during stressful times Ability to work rapidly and accurately to meet supply and demand needs and at the same time achieving quality results Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers, Veterinary Assistants, Registered Veterinary Technicians, Board Certified Surgeons and General Practice Veterinarians Ability to perform duties while standing and walking for long periods of time Why work at Metropolitan? Position Hours:
Monday, Wednesay and Friday + On call-Dayshift Job Types:
Part- Time Pay:
