Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Sterile Processing Technician, where your expertise ensures the safety and well-being of patients through meticulous sterilization and preparation of medical instruments. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sterilization, and inventory management to support smooth surgical operations. Your attention to detail and commitment to aseptic techniques will directly contribute to exceptional patient care and operational efficiency. Duties Thoroughly clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment following strict protocols and manufacturer guidelines Inspect instruments for damage or wear, ensuring all tools are in optimal condition before use Manage inventory levels by accurately tracking supplies, ordering replacements, and organizing storage areas efficiently Document sterilization cycles, maintenance logs, and equipment usage to ensure compliance with safety standards Prepare instruments for sterilization using appropriate aseptic techniques to prevent contamination Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure all necessary tools are prepared and available for procedures Adhere to hospital policies regarding infection control, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance at all times Experience Prior experience in sterile processing or medical equipment sterilization is highly preferred Knowledge of anatomy and physiology enhances understanding of instrument handling and patient safety Familiarity with medical terminology used in hospital settings improves communication with clinical staff Strong skills in inventory management ensure supplies are well-organized and readily available Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain meticulous records is essential Basic understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols is required Certification in sterile processing or related fields is a plus but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for motivated candidates
Pay:
$28.00 - $32.00 per hour
