Job Description
Job Summary Highland Lakes Oral Surgery is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician specializing in Oral Surgery to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will ensure the highest standards of sterilization and infection control for surgical instruments and equipment used in oral surgical procedures. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and sterile environment, supporting our surgeons and enhancing patient care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, patient-centered setting where precision and diligence are paramount. Duties Properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment using approved sterilization techniques and equipment Manage inventory of surgical supplies and sterilized instruments to ensure availability for procedures Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and equipment maintenance in compliance with health regulations Prepare surgical trays and instrument sets according to procedural requirements Follow strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during handling and processing of instruments Assist with the organization and storage of sterile supplies in designated areas for easy access during surgeries Collaborate with surgical staff to ensure all instruments are ready and meet safety standards prior to procedures Skills Strong knowledge of sterilization processes and sterile processing procedures Familiarity with inventory management systems for tracking supplies and instruments Solid understanding of human physiology relevant to oral surgery environments Ability to interpret medical terminology related to surgical procedures and instrumentation Expertise in aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment at all times Knowledge of anatomy specific to oral and maxillofacial regions for proper instrument handling Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and adherence to safety protocols Join us in delivering exceptional patient care through meticulous sterilization practices!
