Precision Surgery Center provides state-of-the-art care in the surgical treatment involving the retina, vitreous, and macula. Precision Surgery Center has an exceptional PRN opportunity for an experienced Scrub Tech in our ambulatory surgery center, open 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday). Job Description We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Scrub Technician to join our dynamic surgical team at Precision Surgery Center. As a Scrub Tech, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures. Your expertise in maintaining a sterile environment and providing the necessary instruments and supplies will be vital in ensuring the success of our surgical department and the safety of our patients.THIS IS A DRUG AND SMOKE FREE WORKPLACE. A DRUG SCREEN AND BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIRED PRIOR TO HIRING.
Responsibilities- Preparing the operating room for surgery by ensuring it is clean, sterile, and fully equipped with the necessary instruments and supplies.
- Assisting the surgical team in donning sterile gowns and gloves.
- Anticipating the needs of the surgical team during procedures and passing instruments and supplies to surgeons and assistants promptly.
- Maintaining the sterile field throughout the surgical procedure and taking appropriate action to prevent contamination.
- Assisting with patient positioning and draping to ensure optimal exposure for the surgical site.
- Handling and disposing of surgical instruments and supplies following established protocols.
- Cleaning and restocking the operating room after each procedure.
- Collaborating with the perioperative team to ensure efficient workflow and timely turnover between surgical cases.
- Adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Assisting in transporting patients to and from the operating room, as needed.
- Participating in continuous education and staying up-to-date with best practices and advancements in surgical technology. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred.
Required:
2 years of experience as a Surgical Scrub Technician in an acute care or surgical setting. .Required:
Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile techniques.Preferred:
Experience working in a Ambulatory Surgery Center, ophthalmic experience a plus!- Excellent attention to detail and ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
