Russian River Veterinary Surgical Service (RRVSS) is looking for reliable relief veterinary technicians to join our growing team and provide coverage as needed. Russian River Veterinary Surgical Service (RRVSS) is an independent, veterinarian-owned surgical practice in Santa Rosa, CA. We excel in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, advanced imaging (CT), surgical consultations, and rehabilitation . We are a small, highly skilled team that values quality medicine, collaboration, and a hands-on approach to patient care. Our goal is to provide exceptional surgical care while creating a workplace where experienced veterinary professionals can do what they do best. As a relief veterinary technician, you'll step in to support our surgical team during staff absences, busy surgical days, and other coverage needs. We're looking for someone who is comfortable working independently and can quickly integrate into an established team.

Responsibilities may include:

Patient intake, preparation, and perioperative care Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery Assisting with orthopedic and soft tissue surgical procedures Monitoring hospitalized and post-operative patients Placing and managing IV catheters and fluid therapy Performing blood draws and other technical procedures Administering medications and treatments Post-operative recovery and discharge of patients Assisting doctors with surgical consultations and diagnostics Cleaning, preparing, and sterilizing surgical instruments and packs Maintaining operating rooms, equipment, and hospital areas Supporting the team with patient care and daily hospital flow Providing excellent client communication and discharge education What We're Looking For Licensed RVT in the state of California Strong technical and anesthesia skills Confident handling surgical and hospitalized patients Comfortable jumping into a fast-paced surgical environment Able to work independently while communicating effectively with the team Reliable and available to provide coverage on an as-needed basis Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude Previous surgical or specialty experience is a plus Relief work at RRVSS is a great opportunity for an experienced technician who enjoys surgery, anesthesia, and hands-on patient care and wants the flexibility of working occasional shifts.
